I was wondering how do you do two french plaits on very long hair?

I've always tried to do a french plait but i just can't. The thing is that my hair is very long and it often gets tangled so i was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to start to do french plaits and how to do 2 of them on long hair! thank you if you can help!
