My mom always said that old women look ridiculous when they have long hair because it looks like they're trying to look young, but I think most of them keep it short just because when you get old your hair gets brittle and it's hard to keep it long AND healthy-looking.

I work in a nursing home %26amp; we have one lady with long hair. Generally older ladies have short hair because it's easier to manage. As you age your mobility lessens %26amp; fart ar*ing about with long hair isn't easy when your joints are stiff and/or fingers are gnarled.

Secondly, as a woman ages, her hair thins and it's difficult to grow, much less make to look good. actually, my great aunt has super long hair... and she is on my mothers side...but my mother is going bald. she stresses alot and her stress point is the top of her head. when alot of women get oler they stress alot about alot things, money, man problems, children problem, etc.
